LEGISLATORS' VISIT TO TCTI

TCTI HAS IMPROVED THE ECONOMIC STANDARD OF BIASE LGA

The establishment of the Teachers Continuous Training Institute by the Government of Cross River State under the leadership of the then Governor , His Excellency Prof. Sir, Ben Ayade has changed the socio-economic narrative of the people of Biase and Cross River State at large.

The Director General of the Teachers Continuous Training Institute prof , Taoheed Adedoja stated this on the 1 February, 2022 in Academic Board Room during the Courtesy visit of the 7 Legislative Assembly of Biase Local Government Legislative Council.

Prof. Adedoja further explained that the institution has gone a long way to employ 40% of Biase indigenes and a total of 60% representing other 17 Local Governments in Cross River State. While a total number of 104 students have been admitted into the TCTI Demonstration Secondary School with the privilege to have a tuition free education.

Prof. Adedoja said the Government of Cross River State has ensured that the students are given three square meals daily and are properly cared for.

Meanwhile, the legislators commended the then Executive Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Prof. Sir Ben for choosing Biase as the TCTI Host Community. The leader of Council, Hon. Charles Eko described the institution as the first of its kind in the whole of Saharan West Africa, adding that the Legislative Council will continue to support the administration of then Governor Ayade to put in place some mechanisms that will sustain his vision and mission in Teachers Continuous Training Institute. Also speaking, the Deputy leader of Council Hon. Ibithim Onesu thanked the Director General and his Management team for sustaining the institution through hard work and dedication.

The majority leader, Hon. Eneg Ojah, appealed that the Management of TCTI should not hesitate to carry them along. The Deputy Director-General of TCTI, Mrs. Mary Omaji thanked the Biase Legislators for their courtesy visit to the institute and said that the facilities in the institute will be useful to the people of Biase and the Management will not hesitate to welcome them at any point in time they require the use of the facilities. This however followed suit with a group photograph.
