More About Teachers Continuous Training Institute

Teachers Continuous Training Institute (TCTI) is one among the capital projects initiated and established by the Government of Cross River State under the administration of then His Excellency Prof. Sir Ben Ayade to improve the wellbeing of 'Crossiverians' through job creation and to promote the standard of quality teachers in the country.

The then Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency, Prof. Sir Ben Ayade changed the socio-economic narrative of the people of Cross River State through the establishment of the Teachers Continuous Training Institute in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State.

The Institute is aimed at providing an enabling environment for serving teachers at all levels including the primary, junior and senior secondary schools, at both private and public sectors to update their knowledge and skills in teaching pedagogies, in all areas/subjects that are taught in WAEC, NECO and Public Examinations.

The Institute has the facilities to provide qualitative training and retraining opportunities to serving teachers in Cross River State and all over Nigeria, including other parts of African Countries respectively. This vision is to ensure that teachers are abreast with the new methodologies of teaching that meets the digital age in the 21st Century.

However, it is often said that a teacher's reward is in heaven, this statement does not always go well with some persons, thereby distorting their ambition of being teachers and they do not value the profession because everybody wants to enjoy the dividend of his labour while on earth.

It was on this note that the then Governor changed the scenario and established Teachers Continuous Training Institute so that teachers will get their reward in the Institute.
Teachers are now recognized as one of the top leaders all over the world. As Nigerians join the entire world on every October 5th to celebrate the World Teachers Day (WTD), the efficacy of this annual event would be useful as the Teachers Continuous Training Institute is the World Training Institute to provide teachers with the current pedagogical skills, knowledge and the use of methodology and instructional materials in the classroom to enhance teaching and learning.

TCTI is equipped with enormous and modern facilities that can hardly be found in other parts of African countries. Such facilities are now available for teachers to explore.

Geographical Location

TCTI is located at the Southern Senatorial District of Cross River State in Biase Local Government Area, 89km away from Calabar, the capital city of Cross River State. The Institute shares a common boundary with the Local Government Headquarter, Akpet Central.
