The Director-General of the Teachers Continuous Training Institute (TCTI) Biase, Professor Taoheed Adedoja, has praised Cross River State Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Otu, for initiating the rehabilitation of TCTI’s facilities. The infrastructure, worth millions, suffered significant damage due to a severe windstorm that accompanied heavy downpour on March 7, 2024.
Marking his third year in office as pioneer Director-General on Monday, Professor Adedoja delivered remarks, acknowledging the governor’s unwavering dedication to advancing TCTI’s growth. He specifically commended the governor’s strategic initiatives, including a range of training programs designed to upskill and reskill teachers, ultimately strengthening the state’s human capital.
Adedoja, a former Minister of Sports and Special Duties, stressed that the rehabilitation of the Institute’s buildings by the State Ministry of Works is a tangible testament to Governor Otu’s commitment to transformative educational reform.
“Let me use this occasion to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, for his steadfast dedication to the advancement of teacher development in the State.
“This commitment is evident in his focus on infrastructure development and teacher retraining programs, which are essential for elevating educational standards in the country through capacity building.”
The TCTI Boss took the opportunity to commend related government agencies and the management staff of the Institute for their exceptional cooperation and outstanding working relationship, which have been instrumental in the successful discharge of their duties.
“I want to also thank all relevant agencies of government in the state, particularly the Ministry of Education, who have been instrumental to the various successes the Institute has recorded in the last three years.”
Professor Adedoja, known for his exemplary work ethic and discipline, urged staff to maintain focus and commitment to their respective tasks. He emphasized the importance of upholding the Institute’s reputation as a leading ICT hub for teacher education, as they discharge their duties with diligence and expertise.
